What Your Score Means

80% or HigherYou have a solid foundation. The Prep course could still help but you seem to have a good foundation.  Good luck in EMT training.

Below 80%If you score below 80%, EMT Prep is recommended before starting EMT school to strengthen core knowledge and clinical reasoning.

Why Most EMT Students Struggle in Their First Weeks

EMT school moves fast. Instructors teach the basic sciences in the beginning of the course and expect you to master these subjects as they move ahead to other subjects. Pretty much everything you learn moving forward requires you to have a solid understanding of what came before. Here is the “foundation” you have to master:

  • Basic anatomy and physiology

  • Medical terminology

  • Vital signs and patient assessment concepts

There are 2 options for building this foundational knowledge:

  1. Try to build it in EMT school along with everything else you need to learn.

  2. Build this foundation of knowledge BEFORE you start EMT school by taking the Prep course. The more you know BEFORE EMT school begins, the LESS you have to learn in EMT school. This translates into less stress and better performance.

If these foundations are missing, EMT school will feel overwhelming—even if you’re motivated and committed. Many students fall behind early, not because they aren’t capable, but because they weren’t fully prepared before day one.

This free EMT Readiness Assessment helps you determine if the foundation of knowledge you have is sufficient before EMT training begins, allowing you to prepare the right way instead of scrambling once classes start.

Why a Readiness Assessment Matters Before EMT School

A readiness assessment test lets you know where you stand in key areas BEFORE EMT school begins when it is still easy to correct. By assessing yourself first, you’ll know whether you’re prepared—or whether an EMT prep course is recommended to help you avoid early struggles, remediation, or program failure.

This approach removes guesswork and helps you start EMT school with confidence instead of playing catch-up.
