Choose the Accelerated EMT Course if you want a structured, in-person classroom schedule. Choose the Hybrid Online EMT Course if you want to complete coursework online with an e-book and attend in-person sessions only for practical skills training, skills testing, and the final written test. Both emergency medical technician program options prepare you for the NREMT exam.
The Accelerated EMT training course meets in person on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8am to 3pm. This focused schedule helps students move through EMT training efficiently while building hands-on skills in the classroom. EMT Education and Training reports a very high pass rate on the NREMT exam for this course.
EMT Education and Training offers a self-paced Online EMT Prep Course for students preparing for EMT school anywhere in the country. The course includes 57 lessons, 18 presentation videos with downloadable PowerPoints, quizzes to test your knowledge, 4 bonus videos, and unlimited access, so you can study at your own pace and revisit the material whenever you need it.
Students can also strengthen their study routine with additional resources, including subject matter quizzes, a practice final, and Tough Subjects Made Easy, which breaks down challenging topics into clear, manageable lessons.
A basic EMT course teaches the core skills used to care for patients before they reach the hospital. Topics typically include CPR, airway management, bleeding control, splinting, medical and trauma emergencies, and safe patient movement. Students practice these skills hands-on and complete skills testing before taking the NREMT exam.
To become an EMT you must complete a state-approved EMT course, hold a current BLS CPR certification, pass the NREMT cognitive exam, and then apply for certification through your state. Exact requirements can vary so confirm the rules with your local EMS agency.
EMT Education and Training offers emergency medical technician training for students in the Los Angeles area through its Accelerated EMT Course and Hybrid Online EMT Course. For both courses, students only come to the campus for skill training. Hybrid course students use an "E-Book" for all the didactic training and lectures for the Accelerated Course students are live webinars done online.
EMT certification requires hands-on skills training and testing, so EMT training cannot be completed entirely online. The Online Hybrid EMT Course at EMT Education And Training is the closest option: coursework is done online using an e-book, while practical skills training, skills testing, and the final written test are in person.
