This program consists of a combination of Online work using an “E Book,” Online Classroom  sessions, and in person classroom sessions (for practical skill training, Practical Skill testing, Final Written testing.)

The course is designed to give the student the skill and knowledge needed to function as a working Emergency Medical Technician, and to facilitate passing the National Registry Exam. All equipment required for the practical skills such as stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, splinting devices and spinal boards are provided by the school for the student to use at no cost to the student.

HOW IT WORKS

Each week you will do reading and homework assignments using the E Book. Then, on Monday evenings we all get together ONLINE for a “Live” interactive session using video chat. During the live online sessions we provide brief lectures covering various subjects, and we also provide a “Q and A” session so you can get your questions answered.

SKILL DAYS

For skill training and testing you will come to one of our 2 campuses, either in Hawthorne or our main campus in Long Beach.  Skill days are typically scheduled for either Saturday or Sunday based on staffing and facility availability. Skill days are MANDATORY. Missing one of the skill days will result in being automatically dropped from the program so make sure you are there and arrive early for every Skill Day.

RIDE ALONGS

As part of the course you will also perform “Ride Alongs” where you will be out running calls with EMT’s with a local ambulance company. This will give you some “hands on” experience actually getting to run real calls.

After you have completed the entire course you are eligible to take the NREMT exam. Our graduates from this course have a phenomenal 94% First Time pass rate on the NREMT test! After passing the NREMT test you can apply for California Certification.

Job opportunities have NEVER been better for EMT’s in Los Angeles County. This program is intended for those who want to gain employment as a firefighter, ER Tech in a hospital, as an ambulance driver or attendant, etc. Graduates have gone on to become Firefighters, Paramedics, Registered Nurses, Doctors, Police Officers, Tactical EMT’s, Studio Set Medics, Diver Medics, Ski Patrollers, etc.  This course is very helpful for individuals who are planning on obtaining higher medical training such as RN, PA or MD.
